When I first came to US, I stayed in Virginia / Washington DC for 6 months. Then when I moved to NYC, there were words pronounced so different ! Even though we're on the same east coast, on the north side. I can't imagine how I'll struggle in Cali or UK So wrong.

I've been all over Valencia looking for academies because I want to prepare an official exam. Apparently I have already a good level but as I think of it, I guess knowing how the exam goes might be as important, if not more, than the knowledge of the language.
Has anyone actually tried official tests?

I help people to prepare for their exams. In my opinion, go for Cambridge.
And your are right. Knowing the exam helps a lot. It's not the same preparing a Cambridge exam or a Trinity one. The exercises are very different and you should practice as much as you can if you have already the level
When I was in London, I enrolled a language school and I did the CAE

Thanks, Mariki!
Is it true that it's only valid for 5 years? It kind of annoys me if that's true. It's like throwing away your money...

It's false. Obviously, if you don't have any kind of contact with the language in 5 years, you won't have the same level than when you obtained it, but the certificate is valid forever
