Born Free - Matt Monro

Born free
As free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart
Live free
And beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star
Stay free
Where no walls divide you
You're free as a roaring tide so there's no need to hide
Born free
And life is worth living
But only worth living
Cos you're born free
Stay free…

Talk to the Animals - Rex Harrison

If I could talk to the animals, just imagine it
Chattin' with a chimp in chimpanzee
Imagine talking to a tiger, chatting with a cheetah
What a neat achievement it would be!

If we could talk to the animals, learn all their languages
I could take an animal degree
I'd study elephant and eagle, buffalo and beagle
Alligator, guinea pig, and flea!

I would converse in polar bear and python
And I would curse in fluent kangaroo
If people ask me "can you speak rhinocerous?"
I'd say "of courserous! Can't you?"

If I conferred with our furry friends, man to animal
Think of the amazing repartee
If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals
Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals
And they could talk to me!

If I consulted with quadrupeds
Think what fun we'd have asking over crocodiles for tea!
Or maybe lunch with two or three lions, walruses and sea lions
What a lovely place the world would be!

If I spoke slang to orangutans
The advantages why any fool on earth could plainly see!
Discussing Eastern art and dramas
With intellectual llamas
That's a big step forward you'll agree!

I'd learn to speak in antelope and turtle
And my Pekinese would be extremely good
If I were asked to sing in hippopotamus
I'd say "whynotamous" and I would!

If I could parlay with pachyderms
It's a fairy tale worthy of Hans Anderson and Grimm
A man who walks with the animals and talks with the animals
Grunts and squeaks and squawks with the animals and they could talk to him!

Let me hear ‘em talk

I'd study every creature's language
So I could speak to all of them on site
If friends said "can he talk in crab or maybe pelican"
You'd say "I canny can" and you'd be right!

And if you just stop and think of it
Ain't no doubt of it
I'm gonna win a place in history
If I could walk with the animals
Talk with the animals
Grunt, squeak, squawk with the animals
And they could squeak and squawk and speak and talk to me!

The Windmills on Your Mind - Noel Harrison

Round like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending nor beginning
On an ever spinning reel

Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that's turning
Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space

Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

[Verse 2]
Like a tunnel you can follow
To a tunnel of its own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone

Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space

Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

[Verse 3]
Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle in your head
Why did Summer go so quickly
Was it something that you said?

Lovers walk along a shore
And leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand?

Pictures hanging in a hallway
Or the fragment of a song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong?

When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the colour of her hair

[Conclusion]
A circle in a spiral
A wheel within a wheel
Never ending nor beginning
On an ever-spinning reel

As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head - B. J. Thomas

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long 'til happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothing's worryin' me

It won't be long 'til happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothing's worryin'
Me

For All We Know - Larry Meredith

Love, look at the two of us
Strangers in many ways
We've got a lifetime to share
So much to say
And as we go from day to day
I'll feel you close to me
But time alone will tell

Let's take a lifetime to say
I knew you well
For only time will tell us so
And love may grow
For all we know

Love (love), look at the two of us
Strangers in many ways

Let's take a lifetime to say
I knew you well
For only time will tell us so (and love may grow)
And love may grow
For all we know
(love)

The Morning After - Maureen McGovern

There's got to be a morning after
If we can hold on through the night
We have a chance to find the sunshine
Let's keep on looking for the light

Oh, can't you see the morning after
It's waiting right outside the storm
Why don't we cross the bridge together
And find a place that's safe and warm

It's not too late
We should be giving
Only with love can we climb
It's not too late
Not while we're living
Let's put our hands out in time

There's got to be a morning after
We're moving closer to the shore
I know we'll be there by tomorrow
And we'll escape the darkness
We won't be searching any more

There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after
(There's got to be a morning after)
There's got to be a morning after

The Way We Were - Barbra Streisand

Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were

Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were

Can it be that
It was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we?
Could we?

Memories
May be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget

So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
The way we were

We May Never Love Like This Again - Maureen McGovern

We may never love like this again
Don't stop the flow
We can't let go
We may never love like this again
And touch the sky
Though we may try

So, while we're here
Let's give out all
Release the dreams inside us
And set them free
Oh, while we're here
Let's leave a mark
There's a candle in the dark
It's here to guide us

We may never love like this again
But through the days
Beyond the hills
I'll see you reaching out to hold me
I don't know just where or when
Still, I'm sure
We'll love again
We'll love again

We'll love again
(We may never love like this again)
We'll love again
(We may never love like this again)
(repeat and fade out)

I'm Easy - Keith Carradine

It's not my way to love you
Just when no one's looking
It's not my way to take
Your hand if I'm not sure

It's not my way to let you see
What's going on inside of me
When it's a love you
Won't be needing, you're not free

Please stop pulling at my sleeve
If you're just playing
If you won't take the things
You make me want to give

I never cared too much for games
And this one's driving me insane
You're not half as free
To wander as you claim

But I'm easy, yeah, I'm easy
Give the word, I'll play your game
As though that's how it ought to be
Because I'm easy

Don't lead me on
If there's nowhere
For you to take me
If loving you will have
To be a sometime thing

I can't put bars on my insides
My love is something I can't hide
It still hurts when I recall
The times I've tried

I'm easy, yeah I'm easy
Take my hand and pull me down
I won't put up any fight
Because I'm easy

Don't do me favors
Let me watch you from a distance
Cause when you're near
I find it hard to keep my head

When your eyes throw light at mine
It's enough to change my mind
Make me leave my
Cautious words and ways behind

That's why I'm easy, yeah, I'm easy
Say you want me, I'll come running
Without taking time to think
Because I'm easy

Take my hand and pull me down
I won't put up any fight
Because I'm easy

Yeah, I'm easy
Give the word, I'll play your game
As though that's how it ought to be
Because I'm easy
