Do you speak English?

Re: Do you speak english?
Buenísimo!! Me gusta mucho, es curioso ver lo parecido que se escriben algunas palabras y lo distinto que se pronuncian.

That's what I was thinking about, in printing it for my kids, but it's very advanced for them. I'll do it for myself (self-torturing )
Re: Do you speak english?
And I thought I could speak english properly
Re: Do you speak english?
Don't worry. My native English teacher said he didn't understand many of the words, and that the poem didn't make much senseRatpenat escribió:And I thought I could speak english properly

Re: Do you speak english?
"fellas"
When I went into the UK with my 6-years degree on English Studies...
The first time I asked for a ticket to "Reading"
Pronunced correctly "Rueeedin"
Pronunced by me: Riiding
The gentelman in the counter didn't know what I was talking about...
So...
Don't worry
It's very different the english speaked there and the one we learn here.
It is like the spanish which is teached aboard it's more similar to the South-american spanish than the spainish of Spain

Re: Do you speak english?
That's so true Felicity.
When I first came to US, I stayed in Virginia / Washington DC for 6 months. Then when I moved to NYC, there were words pronounced so different ! Even though we're on the same east coast, on the north side. I can't imagine how I'll struggle in Cali or UK So wrong.

Re: Do you speak english?
I've been all over Valencia looking for academies because I want to prepare an official exam. Apparently I have already a good level but as I think of it, I guess knowing how the exam goes might be as important, if not more, than the knowledge of the language.
Has anyone actually tried official tests?

Re: Do you speak english?
I help people to prepare for their exams. In my opinion, go for Cambridge.
And your are right. Knowing the exam helps a lot. It's not the same preparing a Cambridge exam or a Trinity one. The exercises are very different and you should practice as much as you can if you have already the level
When I was in London, I enrolled a language school and I did the CAE

Re: Do you speak english?
Thanks, Mariki!
Is it true that it's only valid for 5 years? It kind of annoys me if that's true. It's like throwing away your money...

Re: Do you speak english?
It's false. Obviously, if you don't have any kind of contact with the language in 5 years, you won't have the same level than when you obtained it, but the certificate is valid forever
Re: Do you speak english?
So... would you please give me any advice? some book that helps a lot? stuff like that?
