El escritor y guionista mexicano Guillermo Arriaga gana la XXII edición del Premio Alfaguara de novela por 'Salvar el fuego'.

Salvar el fuego está situada en el México contemporáneo y en ella se narra una improbable historia de amor protagonizada por un preso, JC.

La novela Tiempos recios de Mario Vargas Llosa gana el Premio Francisco Umbral al Libro del Año.

Según ha anunciado este miércoles el jurado del galardón, con 'Tiempos recios', Vargas Llosa está "regresando a uno de los escenarios en que está más cómodo y más conoce", retomando la línea de trabajo de obras anteriores como La fiesta del Chivo.

Raquel Taranilla ha sido galardonada con el Premio Biblioteca Breve 2020 por la novela “Noche y océano".

A la única autora que he leído es a G Willow Wilson, pero Alif el invisible no es precisamente de mis novelas favoritas (no se que tal estará su nueva novela), del resto tanto En la Tierra somos gradiosos por poco tiempo de Ocean Vuong como The Topeka school de Ben Lerner (que supongo que también se publicará pronto por aquí) ya estaban en la mayoría de los listados de lo mejor del año

Hay algunas ausencias notables (Los testamentos, Ducks Newburyport).

La verdad es que la única novela que he leído es La casa holandesa (he leído a Enright y a Offill pero otras novelas, de hecho creo que estas aun no se han publicado por aquí). La novela de Evaristo se publica a finales de mes

El ganador del premio del círculo de críticos fue Everything Inside de Edwidge Danticat y el John Leonard prize a la mejor primera novela se lo llevó The Yellow House: A Memoir de Sarah M. Broom.

El pulitzer de este año se ha retrasado del 20 de abril al 4 de mayo

Tres de los candidatos coinciden con nominados al Nebula, por lo que he visto en los últimos años suele ser más o menos así, la mitad de los candidatos al Nebula acaban nominados al Hugo.

Hay que remontarse a Redshirts de John Scalzi para encontrar un Hugo que no hubiera estado nominado al Nebula, el último ganador del Nebula que no estuvo nominado al Hugo fue Aniquilación
